Happy Birthday Mom!

We really are lucky to have such a great mom. Through your example you've taught us to be smart , independant and compassionate. We've seen from you that motherhood is the highest calling, but being a good mom requires being a good person in your own right. We appreciate the personal sacrifices you make to help us, like moving out of your house just so that we can have a nice place to live with affordable rent, I don't know anyone else that would do that. We love you and hope you have a great day!
Happy Birthday!

Storytelling Festival

Here are some pictures from Saturday at the storytelling festival. We had a great time. I hated to leave.

Aster had her nap with grandma. Thank goodness. We would have had a grumpy girl otherwise.

I don't have any pictures of Shannon and BJ, but they were there. It was Shannon's idea to come in the first place.
This is the Celtic band the Muses, we really enjoyed them. ( They weren't really Celtic, they were from Colorado)

Bulletin

Mom and Dad signed on and still trying to work out the bugs. Dad was on jury duty today and Mom working as usual. Had lots of fun with the Neats on Sat. Looking forward to Kelli's family coming at the end of the month. Excited for most all to be together for the sealing of our little Sam. Enough for now. Will see if I can get it to post. Love, Mom

Try it one more time mom

Mom,
I invited you again because I noticed that the email I was sending to was richardhansen43. I just sent one to rhansen43. It should work now right?

My chili zoo date with Shannon

We went to the zoo today with Shannon, it was fun save a certain somebody who complained the entire time. What happened to my sweetie? Its those darn kids at school I tell you. After we went over to Shannon's and Megan dropped by in interesting clothes to join us for taco soup (chili) and healthy corn bread. THen we came home.

My Monday

Well, as far as Mondays go, it's great. I got some bedding for Laura. She is now sleeping in gma Kathy's bed. Caleb has his crib and Laura's old bed....Which one he sleeps in really depends on how good he is being at the time. For the record, right now he's in the crib. Saturday was so fun. We went to a pumpkin farm with Mom and dad, then went fishing in Mingus lake. It actually looks more like a mud puddle than a lake, but the dept of fish and game stocks it with what I like to call Pity fish. So we did catch five and are going to fry them up tonight. Good times. Well, enough neglecting my housework.....off to do the dishes. Kish.

Konden eats poo.

Hey Kish,
Welcome to the club! Now we have almost all the locals. Kelli and Suzy, come on jump on the wagon. Mom, I know you're working on it.... And Hooray for Kish to put some pictures on it. But guess what, we are about to enter the 21st century. Next Friday the guy is coming to install our high speed internet! ANd then I think We'll be able to post pictures. Jane's birthday party yesterday was great. We tie dyed pillowcases, ate pizza, ice cream and cake (which had a big handful out of it, courtesy of Aster), got lots of loot, changed into pj's and started the last unicorn (which Jane picked out) until it was just too boring, and put in Surf's Up (which, incidentally I found to be boring too) then we painted toenails and the girls basically ran around and played while Konden and Norah watched the movie. Now just a few more weeks until Edie's birthday! We're thinking Nov 9th. It's a Friday. Crazy about Erin. Me and Konden got engaged just about around this time of year. Sorry about your crappy birthday Kish. STinks to get upstaged by weddings and Christmas (at least there will be cake). Its ok all of our babies have been upstaged.

Mary makes the prettiest (and bluest) babies

A cute picture with Mary, Eliza and Norah in the hospital. Norah was just brought out to Mary and she was meeting her sisters for the first time. It was so cute.

Thought I would try my hand at posting a picture everyone would love. This is little Edie and Laura the night that Norah was born. They were so precious. Such good pals.

See this?

Okay, here is a shocker.....First off, my first blog entry, yay! second!!!!! Erin is engaged. Yes, the very same guy that she was kissing at my house. His name is Micah. Pretty cool, huh? She's getting married on December 28. One more entry into the crappy birthday log, 28 entries long that one is. See you soon!

Babysitting

Mary since I'm not trying to freeload free babysitting for Megan that night, I should be free if she in fact can not babysit. It would be easiest if you brought them here. It is nice to be able to go to husbands work dinners. I have never been to one of BJ's and eaten $40 steak (that was last week). I'm not even invited to their Christmas party, humph. So you enjoy!!

It's Official

OK Here's the Official Birthday Arrangement. Dinner and Cake at our place for Jane and Aster on Sunday. Also, Megan, did you want to help paint toenails on the 12th for Jane's party? Don't feel bad if you can't. As long as I'm freeloading, whatcha doing on Thursday the 18th (6:30 I think)? We want to go to a dinner for Konden's department that spouses are actually invited to and we could use up some of that free child care that you owe us. And if she can't, Shannon can you?

Partays

Well, here is the scoop with the parties, there is none really. Aster's birthday is next Monday, but Konden will be gone and I just realized that it's conference this weekend, because I was thinking we could have our family party for both of them on Saturday, but he'll be gone during the prime time of that day. Hmmm. See Shan the reason you never heard about any parties is, I'm not sure about them myself. Jane's party os on the 12th, but that's her friend party, so we were thinking to combine them on a day in between...maybe Sunday. Is that ok for Sunday? We don't have to call it a party, we could just say, cake at our house after conference. And dinner too. MAybe? Well, Norah's crying.
Hi Everyone!!!

We are in. This is a good idea so that we can keep in touch with everyone. Hey Mary nobody told us about any parties. Is that this coming weekend or last weekend. Anyways, we are doing well. Sam's growing like a weed. I can hear him in the other room making a lot of noise. I think he's trying to get me to come back in the room. He's incredibly mobile for not being able to crawl, check out our blog bjandshannon.blogspot.com to see recent pics. For those who don't know we are now officially a minivan family. After months of looking BJ found the one he wanted. We have copied Kish and Matt and have a 04 Honda Odyssey. However, we aren't quite cool enough to have a dvd system. Sam has to ride in silence. But it does have leather. Oooh so nice. I can't wait to hear from you all. Love you.

Also, I should be getting adoption announcements done this week, so start looking for them in your mailbox.

Long Lost Megan

I'm alive! Can you believe it?

I'm sorry I've missed you all at a couple of family events, but that's what happens when you're still living life as a rockin' single. But just so you all know, I'm doing pretty great.

As for what's new- Martha's dance company hired me as their graphic designer. I'm pretty darn excited about it. It's a lot more exciting that designing for the manufactured home business. Now I get to work for an audience that is much more artsy-fartsy. I've also been volunteered to do the flyers for the upcoming Stake Halloween Party. I've been on a big flyer kick lately. Once the word gets out that you actually like doing things that other people kind of dread - Your popularity goes through the roof. Apparently I was also volunteered to do face painting at the party and help with the posters.

I'm still dating James. Things are going pretty well. He seams to like me and he's a nice guy - Good Lookin'! I know most of you have gotten a little taste of James. But for those of you who don't know him that well here's a little bit about him:
About six foot
Blonde Hair
Blue Eyes
Actually does enjoy long walks on the beech
Former Drama Nerd (like Me and Kish)
Kinda nostalgic (love old movies, cartoons, games, ex.)
Collects Atari games (like Konden)
Built and plays his own bass guitar
He's a lot like dad actually- collects movies, sings bass, Randomly blurts out random comments in his mission language (which in James' case is Cambodian).
We've been having a lot of fun. We sing songs from old musicals in public, which I admit is probably less fun and more annoying to our friends. What can I say, I've found someone who is just as big of a ham as I am. I've actually known him for about five years and this is the third and only successful time of trying to date me. Moral of the story-persistence.

On that note- This is the end of the second official blog on the Hansen's official blog site. Look forward to hearing from all of you.

All aboard!

OK everyone here is our official first post for our family blog which I guess as of now consisits only of me, but as I am sure you are all eager to join, I will look forward to seeing more posts than mine, which will be good because myfamily's blog only has two posts and two drafts because I stink at it. I don't even dare post a picture because I'm sure it will only stall the computer. So join in everybody. Let us know all your news. This may be the only way to communicate with our long lost sister Megan. (Yes Shannon we know you see her every day, or at least you say you do...) Well I should also update for us. The main thing with us now is Konden's mom. She's been in the ICU with infections in her colon (2nd time this year) It's actually very serious, but she is a strong lady and looks to be pulling through again. So that's the big thing here. We postponed Norah's blessing because of this. But now Kelli, you might be here when we do it, probably the first of November. We're just about to start our big wave of birthdays, Aster on the 8th and Jane on the 12th. JAne's having a "pajama pary" not to be confused with a sleep over. THey'll change into their pajamas but then go home at 9. What a party animall I am. For all you locals, We'll be celebrating Aster's birthday this Saturday which will also cover Jane's since she's having a friend party on her actual birthday. More details to come. Gee it's easier to write for this blog, I guess cause I know who my audience is. And this is long enough. So adiou.
